Fans flock to join Trust

HIBS fans are flocking to sign up to a unique supporters' initiative, which could net Alex McLeish more than £1 million within three years - after the Easter Road boss himself gave the thumbs- up.

As revealed in the Pink last Saturday, McLeish became the latest and most prominent figure - to join Erin Community Trust, which aims to raise cash for the Hibs manager by persuading fans to pledge £5 a month.

Since McLeish put pen to paper hundreds of fans have given the Trust their backing with current membership heading towards 1000 and on track to reach the target figure of 3000 which would guarantee at least £1 million for the manager in less than three years.

Today Trust official Jillian Binnie said they were delighted by the response. She said: "If Hibs fans can relate to the enthusiasm Alex has shown for the Trust, then I am sure they will be happy to join him as a member. You can rest assured this is no stunt - he has joined up and paid up out of his own pocket."
